Thurs. 08/06/2010 - Flower Market

Recently my tour became very short and in-between activity before I meet someone or after I take care of errands...and today one was sort of the same. I dropped by flower market before I had lunch with Ana. on 28th street mostly between 6th & 7th avenue, the entire block is flower wholesalers. The area became smaller than before, but still it's the best source of getting flowers in wholesale prices. Most of them truly deals with trades request for tax id for business...but at least it's refreshing to pass by.
Once you get out of the flower market street, it's another wholesale district. Centered on Broadway from 32nd street to several blocks down to south, there are tons of cheap jewelry, perfume, bags and clothing wholesalers. And in the middle of it, the Ace Hotel stays almost hidden -even though this area was historically hotel district-.
No Standing sign in front of Ace Hotel. I actually took many of these street signs, traffic lights and stan pipes today planning to make a collection of these mundane but "New York" things on the streets.
