Tues. 08/03/2010 - Brooklyn Heights

I haven't been able to tour the city a last couple of days doing all kind of things I need to do to leave the country. Not only I had things actually to do, but also I didn't have enough piece of mind to aimless wondering around. Today, finally I could have some short time to visit at least one place, so I decided to go to see DUMBO. When I first arrived there, I was kind of overwhelmed by the scale of area and all the high-rises around me. Luckily I stepped into Brooklyn Heights without knowing. So, as usual instead of original plan, I had chance to see the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood. It was one peaceful area where beautiful brownstones, low houses, and mansions resided with spectacular view to lower Manhattan and Statue of Liberty.

A local told me a store about all these fruity street names. in 19th century, a lady named Montague started to name the streets after fruits, like orange and pineapple. And later they were decided to keep those names, and Ms. Montague herself got a street named after her as well.
