Fort Tryon Park is in northern side of NYC, starting from 190th Street. It's relatively unknown park to even New Yorkers (or it's just too far from main part of NYC), but it is one of the most beautiful parks overlooking Hudson River. It is also a home of the Cloister Museum, and the Heather Garden.
{Fort Tryon Park}
Fort Tryon was part of "Fort Washington" during the revolutionary war, so park ways were done along the remaining forts.
Two little kids drew this...
{The New Leaf Café}
The café is inside of park. I had "Trio Seasonal Salad" which was excellent!!!
{Heather Garden}
Heather Garden is a highlight of the Fort Tryon Park, and it is considered as the biggest heather and heath garden in the east coast. It has this free and carefree feeling of country gardens, but every heath, heather and perennial is carefully planned and planted to make the amazing colors, shapes and textures year round. I feel bad I can't see the garden with foliage in fall...but I truly truly enjoyed the vibrant summer garden. Fragrance of lavenders and sound of birds were another great pleasure.
