ABC Carpet & Home is a heavenly place for anyone who loves home decorating. I myself loved the store as well...but today, I was less impressed by it than I used to be. I think the part of the reason was that I've been to too many antique shops and flea markets. Besides the contemporary things, I could see many of things not so much different from what I saw from "other sources". And another part of reason was that the "vintage rustic look" is so trendy right now, and I've been seeing the same look from everywhere-from restaurant, retail shops, to hair salons. I truly realize that at the end it's really a matter of presentation and an object being in the context.
{ABC On Sale}
Almost everything was on sale. There were really good bargains.

{The Ground Floor}

{Pillows by Madeline Weinrib}
Her signature style is modern interpretation of ikat, brocade or blockprint design applied to carpets, pillow covers, clutches, table linens and even to fashion. She is also a grand-daughter of ABC Carpet & Home founder.
Anyway, after I saw some stores selling an object with $100 something ticket, the exact same thing I can buy paying $10 from flea market, I thought this kind of chair that was only $90 in Brooklyn "Junk" could be nicely re-upholstered in beige linen -which is much favored fabric at ABC store- or in deep aubergine velvet (even though I kind of like this seafoam blue) and could be displayed there. Again, today at ABC, I totally realized how important the context was, and to find something out of nothing. Click to See Much More Ideas Here...
